Start a Markdown file from scratch

With Champ Mode, select New .md file, give it a name, and write in the editor. Use the formatting toolbar for headings, lists, links, code, and tables; select Read to preview and Save to download your .md file. Follow the step-by-step guide.

Do I need an account to read a Markdown file?

No. Open a .md or .markdown file to read it without signing in or purchasing Champ Mode.

Does dotMD Champ upload my file when I open it?

No. Reading and editing happen in your browser. If you choose to email a file, its content is sent to our server and email provider to deliver the attachment. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I save changes to a Markdown file?

After editing in Champ Mode, choose Save to download the updated .md file. Unsaved drafts can be restored on this device, but use Save for a permanent .md copy.

Can I open several Markdown files at once?

Free reading opens one file at a time. Champ Mode lets you keep up to five files open and switch between them with tabs.
